Privacy

Lampling collects nothing about you or your baby. This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data. There is no data to handle, because none of it ever leaves your phone.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account to create, no email address to give, and no server to send anything to. On the App Store, Lampling declares Data Not Collected.

Where your entries live

On your device, in the app's own storage. If you use iCloud device backup, your entries are included in that backup under your own Apple account, encrypted and governed by Apple's terms rather than ours. We cannot read it.

Logging by voice works the same way: the recognition happens on the device and the audio is not sent anywhere.

Analytics in the app

There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no attribution framework, no advertising identifier. Nothing you log is measured, and nothing about your baby is sent anywhere. That is a property of the app itself, and it has not changed.

Analytics on this website

This page is different, and this section used to say otherwise. This website now uses Google Analytics to count visits and Hotjar to see which parts of the page people read. Both set cookies, both load from their own servers, and both run as soon as you open the page. There is no banner, and we do not ask you first.

What they record is how this website is used: pages opened, roughly where in the world the visitor is, which links are clicked, how far down the page they scroll and where the pointer moves. There is no login here and no form to fill in, so none of it is tied to a name. It is measurement of a marketing page, not of a baby, and it stops at the App Store link.

You can refuse it. Any content blocker that stops Google Analytics or Hotjar stops them here, and nothing on this site breaks when they are blocked: the page is written to work without them. A "Do Not Track" setting will not help you: Google Analytics ignores it. The fonts and stylesheets are still served from this domain rather than a CDN.

Payments

Lampling Plus is a one-off purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Plus is Family Shareable, so it unlocks for the people in your Family Sharing group. The unlock is all that travels: each phone stores its own entries, and nothing is synced between them.

Your data, exported or deleted

You can export everything from within the app at any time. Deleting the app deletes your entries with it; there is no copy anywhere else to request the removal of.
